I decided I should change my journal. I haven't really done anything with my deviant account in the last year. I started a new job after 13 years of being in a family business. My new job has taken a while to get used to. My hours are strange because it is shift work, but I have a lot of time off. I am just now getting used to all the changes. I think I can finally start to focus on my photography again. I have a ton of great pictures I need to work on so I should be updating my gallery soon.

I don't like to totally manipulate them but I would like to bring out the best they could be. I read all the tutorials and try a lot of things with them but it seems like it is still not what I want. Maybe I am my own worst critic, I don't know. I still have a ton of work

I live near Carlsbad, NM.  There are tons of caves in the Guadalupe Mountains. It is a big challenge to get to caves and also to get in. All the caves I have been to have no lighting in them at all, just pitch black. The only light is from your helmet lights. A friend of mine also is into cave photography so I use his slave flashes until I can afford some of my own. It is pretty tricky trying to light up a totally dark cave. I try to position the flashes to give the formations m
